The bodies of APA are the General Assembly, the General Council, the Board of Directors and the Executive Secretary, and the Supervisory Council. The mandate of the members of the General Assembly and the remaining bodies of the association lasts for two years, whereby they can be re-elected, once or more.
Made up by all the members, it is the General Assembly that is competent to decide, by absolute majority of the members present, on all matters within the scope of APA.
The management and representation of APA are committed to the Board, which is composed of three, five or seven members, elected by the General Assembly. The President has a casting vote. The Board may decide on the creation of councils or specialized committees in order to engage members to participate in the pursuit of the statutory goals. The Executive Secretary, elected by the General Assembly, is in charge of serving as secretary at the Board meetings and of promoting the execution of the Board's decisions; the Board can delegate some of its powers on the Executive Secretary.
Composed of three members, elected by the General Assembly, the Supervisory Council oversees the activity of the Board, prepares an annual report on its activity and provides its opinion on the budget and on the yearly accounts presented by the Board.
